Trends for the Swiss Software Development Market in 2023
According to a recent LinkedIn survey, most Swiss software manufacturers develop their software on-site or with consultants, with very few opting for offshoring. It’s worth noting that the survey had a minor limitation: our LinkedIn page doesn’t have a large number of followers, and only two users participated 😅.

In 2021, Swiss software companies generated 13.6% of their added value through external service providers. Technology and service companies derived 13.5% of their added value from their subsidiaries. In contrast, consulting firms (4%), custom software manufacturers (3.1%), software integrators (2.6%), and standard software manufacturers (1.7%) lagged behind
The reasons for expanding the workforce abroad primarily revolve around gaining access to skilled labor and addressing the shortage of qualified professionals.
